Title: The Next Step

Synopsis: The issue opens with Vance fighting the Guardsmen of the Vault. It is revealed that it is simply a training exercise for both parties. Meanwhile, at Avengers Mansion, Rage is reprimanded for stealing (and losing) a Quinjet in previous issues. He is kicked off of the team, but greeted by Robbie, who offers him a spot on the Warriors. He is also given a new costume, apparently by Namorita’s orders.
Firestar, Nova, and Nita are in Colorado, tracking the vehicle transporting Vance to the Vault. They break him out and take out the guards before being stopped by Vance himself, who tells his friends that he wants to accept his punishment.
In New York, Dwayne is seen having a hard time dealing with the recent revelations of his past; he refuses to talk to Chord and is remodeling his armor so it is something that he designed, not anyone else.
Back in Colorado, the Guardsmen allow Vance to take a walk with Angel. Angel tells him she wants to consummate their relationship, but Vance tells her that it will be special and they will wait until their marriage night. Nova and Nita help fix the van and Vance is taken to the Vault.
