Writer: Fabian Nicieza
Penciler: Chris Marrinan
Synopsis: The New Warriors begin to charge towards the Folding Circle. Night Thrasher insists on trying to settle without fighting, but Tai convinces the Left Hand that the New Warriors must die in order for his team to leave the Temple alive. During the fight, Night Thrasher switches sides and rejoins the New Warriors. The quickly take out all of the members of the Folding Circle, leaving them to face Tai alone. Tai easily captures them in supposedly unbreakable bonds which resemble the bonds on Bloodstrike's costume. Tai explains to Night Thrasher that his father was killed partly because of his refusal to cooperate with her and also because the death of his parents led to the creation of the New Warriors. Back in Saugerties, New York, the trial of Marvel Boy continues as The Thing is called to testify. As with Firestar, the Thing testifies that he believes that Vance could've stopped his father without killing him. When Vance asks Foggy if Captain America is going to testify on his behalf, Foggy tells him that it wouldn't be a good idea and informs him that the Warriors recently stole an Avengers Quinjet. Instead, Foggy calls Vance's mother, Norma Astrovik, to the stand. Inside the Temple, Tai explains to the New Warriors that she needed the men of the west to mate with the Daughters of the Dragon to fulfill the prophecy. She explains how her ancestors, once a nomadic people, had discovered the Well of All Things. Over time, her people had built a temple around the well. The had devised a plan of selective breeding in order to produce offspring who would in time be able to control the powers of the well. Tai's generation had more control over the energies of the well than any previous generations. It was her generation that would bear the children of The Pact. After WWII, she gave birth to Miyami, and the other women soon gave birth to their own daughters. These would be the Daughters of the Dragon that the western men would mate with in order to give Tai's people complete control over the power of the well. Tai, not wanting to share this power, set about murdering any of her people who stood in her way. This left her to be the sole heir of the energies of the well. Tai promises to tell Dwayne more about the murder of his parents if he offers up the New Warriors as sacrificial lambs. Meanwhile, in Saugerties, New York, the trial of Marvel Boy continues with Norma Astrovik's testimony. She too says that she believes that Vance could've stopped his father without killing him. Back inside the Temple, Tai explains that she needs the New Warriors as sacrifices because only children of like power can seal the nexus and give her control over the energies of the well. Tai explains that the energies will be more potent if she has willing sacrifices, but that she will torture and kill them if she must.
