Issue 19

Date:  January, 1992
Title:  Sympathy for the Devil
Writer:  Fabian Nicieza
Penciler:  Mark Bagley

Synopsis:  The New Warriors have been captured by Gideon and he questions Marvel Boy as to why they invaded his home.  He tells Gideon only after he threatens Firestar.  Marvel Boy tells Gideon that the Warriors were there to find out information about him since they discovered that his company, Ophrah Industries, was involved with the Taylor Foundation.  Furious at the fact that the New Warriors illegaly invaded his home, he uses Marvel Boy's powers to knock him out and decides to question Firestar.  In Oakland, the Smiling Tiger is approached by the Left Hand after he has murdered three men involved in a drug deal.  The Left Hand recruits him, promising to guide him to discover information about himself.  At Mount Sinai Hospital, a woman visits Chord and refers to him as her husband.  When she notices a strange smell she runs away screaming.  We see Tai standing in the shadows of the hospital room smiling devilishly.  Back at Gideon's home, Firestar tells him how they attempted to invade his home.  Night Thrasher and Robbie snowboarded down a mountain side towards Gideon's home while the other Warriors provided a distraction so that they wouldn't be noticed.  Speedball and Night Thrasher arrive at the house, greeted by Gideon who duplicates Speedball's powers and fights them both.  The other Warriors show up, but Gideon easily defeats them, using their own powers against them in ways that they never knew possible.  After continuing to question the Warriors, Gideon gets them to admit that if they are willing to do anything to discover the truth, that they are no better than him.  Gideon then agrees to tell them what he knows of the Taylor Foundation.
