The suit grants her the ability to fly at incredibly fast speeds and to fire offensive gusts of wind also at incredibly high speeds.  The Torpedo armor also gives her enhanced strength.  Her armor can also disrupt energy fired at it.  The visor in her helmet also allows her to see Dire Wraiths in their true forms when they have shape shifted.  Turbo can also alter the appearance of the torpedo suit at will.

History:  When Mike Jeffries gave Mickey a goofy costume to wear to a Halloween party, neither of them realized that she was actually wearing the lost Torpedo armor.  Unfortunately, though lost, it was not forgotten by a group of scientists who had been looking for the armor.  As soon as Mickey put the armor on, she activated the armor and the scientists, wearing Rocketeer suits, were able to trace it's location.  They crashed the party and attacked Mickey.  Mickey was able to activate the turbines in the torpedo armor and quickly defeated the rocketeers.

Mickey and Mike began sharing the armor after the incident with the rocketeers.  Mike wanted to become a hero, but Mickey was only interested in using the suit to travel across the world.  It was during one of this trips that Mickey witnessed an illegal smuggling operation taking place.  Mickey fled after she was shot at, but returned to the scene, feeling morally obligated to use the armor for good.  It was then that Turbo first came into contact with the New Warriors.  She assisted the Warriors in stopping Cardinal and Sea Urchin from smuggling their illegal cargo.

Mickey and Mike both had a training session with Nova at a later time.  It was evident to everyone that Mickey was superior to Mike when it came to using the Torpedo suit.  During this training session, Mike, Mickey and Nova were attacked by Air Force.  Mike, unable to assist due to his inability to properly use the armor, was forced to let Mickey suit up so that she could assist Nova in defeating Air Force.

Mickey later helped rescue the core team of the New Warriors after they were displaced at various points in time by the male Sphinx.  Mickey was one of the members of this team who were offered reserve membership status.  Mickey's status was eventually upgraded to full time after assisting the New Warriors in a battle against the Undertow.

Due to the demanding duties as a New Warrior, sharing the Torpedo suit with Mike became a challenge since Mickey was needed with the team often.  During one trip to the New Warriors crashpad, Mickey decided to try to make it up to Mike by trying to find a way to turn the suit black, as he wanted to do.  Just then, the suit changed colors.  It was then that Mickey realized that she could alter the appearance of the suit at will, although she didn't yet realize to what lengths.

Mickey soon began to tire of her career as a super hero and planned on leaving the New Warriors in the hope that they would accept Mike as her replacement.  Unfortunately, the Dire Wraith Queen, Volx, had already encountered Mike in an attempt to steal the armor, killing him in the process.  Volx then assumed Mike's physical form.  Mickey called a meeting of the team to announce her departure and to pass the suit on to Mike as full time.  Without realizing, she passed suit to Volx.  The New Warriors were able to defeat Volx and Mickey returned the suit.  She decided to remain a super hero to honor Mike's memory.

Mickey was later shown visiting Mike's grave.  She altered the appearance of the suit, including the turbines and helmet, according to one of his designs.  Mickey eventually.  The New Warriors, apparently disbanded for a short time, soon reformed and Turbo rejoined the team.  She became romantically involved with a man named Dalton Beck, who was secretly the criminal Firestrike.  He had been hired to kill Turbo and steal the Torpedo suit, but he fell in love with her and was unable to follow through with his mission.  Turbo found out about his dual identity later and turned him over to the police.  In exchange for his testimony he was granted immunity, but had to join the witness protection program, meaning that Mickey would never see him again.  Mickey, who still had feelings for Dalton, was heartbroken.

The New Warriors disbanded once again and Mickey eventually co-founded a support group for former teenage super heroes called Excelsior.  The group focused on helping teenaged heroes adjust to a normal non-super powered lifestyle.  Excelsior was funded by Rick Jones, who wanted the team to track down a group of super powered teenagers known as the Runaways.  Excelsior later changed their name to the Loners and, at the request of their financial backer, got back into the super hero game.
