Powers:  Phaser uses technology that shares many of it's offensive capabilities with Iron Man's armor.  He can fire offensive blasts from plates on his forearms and chest.  Formerly, as Radian, he had the ability to emit ultra violet light that could blind or burn his opponents.

History:  Christian Cord was one of many students who enrolled at the Xavier Institute after Professor Charles Xavier was publicly revealed to be a mutant.  During one of Cassandra Nova's attack on the institute, Christian and several other students were mind controlled by Cassandra Nova and forced to attack the X-Men.  They were quickly freed from her control thanks to the intervention of the Stepford Cuckoos.

Christian soon joined the Omega Gang, lead by Quentin Quire (Kid Omega) after a high profile mutant fashion designer was seemingly murdered by humans.  The Omega Gang attacked non-powered humans and attempted to take control of the Xavier Institute when human students were allowed to enroll.  The revolt was foiled by the X-Men and Christian, along with other members of the Omega Gang were captured.  They were then sent to a human jail and were informed that after their sentence had been completed that they would then be sent overseas to perform charity work.

After the events of House of M, Christian was one of many mutants who lost his power.  He later surfaced as a member of the New Warriors.  Given the opportunity to have powers through technological means, Christian trained for many months with the other members of the New Warriors in secret.  During the New Warriors first public mission, Christian's sister, Christine (Longstrike) Cord was killed by Cancer, a member of the Zodiac.
