History:  Vance Astrovik's powers manifested at an early age due to his encounter with his older self from an alternate reality, Vance Astro of the Guardians of the Galaxy.  Vance's father was abusive and would beat him because of his mutant power.  After enduring his father's abuse Vance ran away from home and met the Thing.  He traveled with the Thing and became a wrestler with the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation known as Manglin' John Mahoney.  Vance's mother hired a private detective to find her son.  She convinced him to come back home and that his father was in therapy.  Vance agreed to return home to his parents.  Sometime later, Vance, calling himself Marvel Boy, attempted to join the Avengers but was denied by Captain America who said that he was too young.  It was at this time that Night Thrasher recruited him to join the New Warriors.  Marvel Boy fought alongside the New Warriors and began a relationship with fellow New Warrior, Firestar.  Despite his success as a hero, Vance's home life was falling apart.  His father read his personal journal and discovered that he was Marvel Boy.  Outraged, he attempted to hit Vance but was stopped when Vance used his power to push him away.  After sustaining serious injury on a New Warriors mission, Vance's father became enraged and hit him.  When he attempted to hit him again Vance reacted and telekinetically knocked his father through a wall.  About 70% of his father's bones were ground to dust.  His father died soon after as a result of his injuries.  Vance was arrested and convicted of negligent homicide and was sentenced to serve no more than three years and no less than 14 months in the Vault.  While a prisoner in the Vault, Vance became a model prisoner and would work out with the guardsmen, developing a friendship with guardsman Scott Washington.  Vance was granted an early parole and released from the Vault.  Soon after his release, he confronted his mother about her lack of action over the years when his father would beat him.  She was unable to forgive Vance for his actions against his father.  Vance rejoined the New Warriors, taking up the name Justice.   During battle with the Sphinx, Vance was transported back in time to when his father was a teenager.  During this time, Vance learned that his grandfather used to beat his father because he was gay.  Vance later took over leadership duties of the New Warriors after the team kicked out Night Thrasher.  While the Warriors were attempting to track down Volx, the Wraith Queen, Firestar proposed to Vance.  Vance, with his fiancé, Firestar,  later joined the Avengers.  The New Warriors were later reformed by Speedball, who asked Justice and Firestar to rejoin, but they turned his offer down.  During his time as an Avenger, Justice fought alongside his hero, Captain America, against villains like Ultron.  He also, worked undercover for the Avengers and infiltrated a religious group known as the Triune Understanding.  Justice and Firestar later left the Avengers.  Later, while planning their wedding, Firestar decided she was too young to get married and called off the engagement.  Vance and fellow former New Warrior Rage contacted She-Hulk after several of his former teammates were inadvertently responsible for the deaths of 600 residents of Stamford, Connecticut during a battle with Nitro.  The then current team of New Warriors, were all believed to be dead.  He and Rage asked for her legal help in shutting down a New Warriors hate site called Destroy All New Warriors.  The site, which resulted from the Stamford tragedy, revealed the identities of several former New Warriors which resulted in their being attacked by mobs.  They discovered that former New Warrior, Carlton LaFroyge, a.k.a. Hindsight, was responsible for the website.  Justice and Rage, along with other New Warriors allies confronted Carlton at his home but fled after a mob formed around them.  Justice followed Captain America and joined the rebellion of heroes opposing the Super Human Registration Act.  However, when the war between the super heroes was over, Justice became a registered hero and is now serving as a counselor to young heroes who are enrolled in the Initiative training program in Stamford, Connecticut.
