Powers: Aegis has no super human powers. His powers come from the Aegis breastplate he wears. With the breastplate Aegis can erect impenetrable force fields. However, Aegis must be aware of whatever attack is coming towards him in order for his force field to deflect it. Aegis' force field can also absorb and redirect energy that is fired at it. The force field can also be extended to protect anyone nearby Aegis.
History: While
walking
home
from
school
one
day,
Trey
Rollins
heard
a
strange
noise
coming
from
an
abandoned
building.
Inside
he
discovered
the
Aegis
breastplate.
Trey
decided
to
use
the
breastplate
to
become
a
local
hero.
On
a
chance
encounter
with
the
New
Warriors,
Aegis
helped
them
defeat
Blastaar
and
was
offered
membership
with
the
team.
After
joining
the
New
Warriors
some
of
Aegis'
actions
led
them
to
be
less
trusting
of
him.
Particularly
when
Aegis
chose
to
save
his
former
friend,
James,
who
was
now
a
member
of
the
Lobo's
Boys
gang,
instead
of
his
teammate,
Bolt,
from
a
collapsing
roof.
Later,
James
led
the
Lobo's
Boys
gang
to
the
New
Warriors
crashpad
where
they
blew
it
up
using
weapons
provided
to
them
by
Joe
Silvermane.
During
a
later
television
news
broadcast
featuring
the
New
Warriors,
Aegis
was
seen
wearing
the
Aegis
breastplate
by
Hercules.
Hercules,
assuming
that
it
was
stolen,
transported
Aegis,
and
the
other
New
Warriors,
to
Mt.
Olympus
so
that
it
could
be
returned.
There
it
was
revealed
by
Athena
that
she
had
intended
for
Trey
to
find
the
breastplate
all
along.
Athena
then
bestowed
upon
Aegis
a
new
costume,
which
closely
resembled
his
homemade
outfit.
Aegis
was
last
seen
running
from
pro-registration
enforcers.
He
went
underground
in
an
attempt
to
find
Captain
America
and
join
his
anti-registration
group.
